KARACHI: A husband on Wednesday allegedly killed his wife in an apparent honour killing.
Accused Rahim Dad cut his wife?s neck with a sharp object at Bara Qabristan area, SITE Town.
Police arrested Rahim and recovered the weapon used to commit the murder, police said.
The accused confessed to have killed his wife over suspicion, police said.
?My wife had relations with another man,? he said, adding the he had complained to the police about it. ?I murdered her last night after a heated argument,? he confessed.
Police has registered an FIR and is investigating the incident.
Honour killings in the country are on the rise. The most recent case which made headlines is of UK citizen Samia Shahid who was killed in Jhelum allegedly by her first husband while she was visiting family in Pakistan in July this year.
Social media sensation Qandeel Baloch was killed by his brother in July this year for her provocative videos and bold statements.
According to independent group Human Rights Commission Pakistan 1000 honour killings took place in Pakistan last year.
