DIK doctors stun by performing 11 surgeries in torch light

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Doctors in DIK turned what would have been routine surgeries into a unique record when they carried out 11 operations in the torch light of mobile phones.

With no electricity at DHQ Hospital and generators out of order, there was no option but to do the unthinkable.

“The surgeries needed to be carried out. So we performed 11 surgeries in the torch light of the phones,” said surgeon Dr Farooq.
