KARACHI: The bail extension pleas of Muttahid Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders Waseem Akhtar, Rauf Siddiqui, and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Anis Qaimkhani were rejected on Tuesday, with reports of police preparing to arrest the Karachi leaders from the court premises.

The leaders had appeared in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) for the hearing of the Dr Asim Hussain case.

According to reports, the gates of the anti-terrorism courts had been shut, with police personnel not allowing the suspects in the case to leave the court premises.

Sources told Geo News that jail warrants were being prepared for the three leaders, and that they would shortly be shifted to jail.
