Syrian children hold Pokémon photos urging people to find and save them

With the recent Pokémon craze having taken everyone by storm, the internet has seen pictures of Syrian children holding Pokémon photos asking the world to save them.

The images that first appeared on social networking site, Facebook show Syrian children looking straight into the camera with photos of different Pokémon captioned "I am here, come save me."

The children are from different towns of Syria and the pictures they are holding mention their locations too, the Independent reported.

Among all these pictures there is one that reads, ?I am in Kafr Nabl on the outskirts of Idlib, come and save me."

 

 

 

These pictures have been shared by the Revolutionary Forces of Syria Media Office (RFS), an organization that aims at spreading the Syrian people?s messages against Bashar al-Assasd's tyrinnical regime.

The pictures have been shared over 21, 000 times.

?With the media spread wide for Pokémon game we decided to publish these images to highlight the suffering of the Syrian people from the bombing of the forces of order and Air-Assad to the Syrian people and besiege them,? said an RFS spokesperson while talking to the Independent.

Comments expressing sympathy towards the children have started pouring in.

The images were published after more than 50 civilians were killed by air strikes in northern Syria, the majority of them women and children.

The RFS spokesperson added: "Syrian children are victims of the war and the brutal and indiscriminate attacks that are carried out on a daily basis by regime and Russian jets.

"The Syrian children are paying the price for the international inaction to stop the Assad killing machine."

UNICEF has said it estimates 35,000 children are trapped in and around the Syrian city of Manbij, where the air strikes hit.

Sonakshi shares upcoming movie look where she plays journalist

Based on Pakistani journalist Saba Imtiaz?s novel 'Karachi You?re Killing Me' Bollywood film Noor will see Sonakshi Sinha essaying the role of a Mumbai journalist. The film will be directed by ad filmmaker Sunhil Sippy.

The actress has been sharing little details of her character, adding to the audiences? anticipation of the movie.

The character she plays in the film is of a young and quirky girl, struggling to find her place in the world. Sinha recently shared a picture of the accessories she will be seen donning in the film as a glimpse of what her overall look in the film will be like.

The picture captioned, "She collects words in all shapes/sizes & hangs 'em like bangles in her mind. She's tht girl.? Also serves as an insight into her character.

Previosuly, Sonakshi had taken Instagram to share a small clip from the film and the looks that she will be donning as part of her portrayal of a journalist.

According to Mumbai Mirror the screenplay will see slight changes from the original story the most prominent one being the change in setting. While Imtiaz?s novel is set in Karachi, Sinha will be playing a Mumbai journalist. ?Noor will be based in Mumbai and has the eponymous Noor Roy Chaudhary, a 20-something journalist, at its centre," informs a source close to the development.

Blast injures six people in Quetta

QUETTA: At least six people including two children were injured in a bomb blast at Quetta’s Sariab road.

According to the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), the bomb was denoted through a remote-controlled device.

Two to two-and-a-half kilogram of explosive material was used in the explosive, the BDS added.

So far no deaths have been reported.  

Earlier this month, another bomb blast had taken place at Sariab road in which four people had been wounded.

Qandeel?s brother was assisted by friends in murder: police

MULTAN: Police suspects more than one person was involved in the murder of internet sensation Qandeel Baloch.

The main accused Qandeel’s brother Waseem confessed that he had plotted the murder with his relative Haq Nawaz, police said.

When Waseem killed Qandeel, Haq Nawaz was present in the house. Another relative Basit waited in a car at a distance from the house, he added. After committing the murder the three fled in his car.

Police has also arrested two of Qandeel's sisters-in-law from Dera Ghazi Khan.

Accused Waseem was shifted to Lahore from Multan last night for a polygraph test. The results will reveal more evidence.

The accused has been sent on judicial remand for interrogation till July 25.

Waseem, in his confession before media said that he’s a Baloch and his sister’s controversial videos and scandals had become unbearable for him. He said that he drugged her and then strangled her to death.

Prominent cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi, who made headlines last month for appearing in a video with model Qandeel Baloch, will be included in the murder investigation of the slain social media star, police said on Monday. 

The mother of slain model Qandeel Baloch said that Mufti Abdul Qavi provoked her son into murdering her daughter.

Qandeel Baloch was killed by her brother in an apparent honour killing on July 16.

The murder took place when Qandeel was sleeping at her house in Muzaffabad, her parents said in a statement recorded to the police. Her parents were sleeping on the rooftop.

PM Nawaz meets COAS, discusses Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday met Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif, hours before the National Security Council meeting scheduled for today.

The premier discussed the on going violence by Indian security forces in occupied Kashmir in the meeting with the army chief.

During the meeting, matters related to homeland security and regional peace were brought under discussion.

PM Nawaz Sharif is due to preside a National Security Council meeting today. He arrived in the capital city yesterday, after staying away from PM House for almost 60 days on account of his cardiac surgery in London and later in the wake of an infection in his leg following his return to the country.

Today?s meeting would include Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee and chiefs of the three armed forces.

Several high profile ministers such as defense minister, interior minister, federal ministers of the treasury, national security adviser, foreign adviser and others would also attend the meeting.

Sources had said that matters related to the National Action Plan, operation Zarb-i-Azb, and Karachi operation would likely be discussed in the NSC meeting.

External matters such as the worsening security situation in the occupied Kashmir since the death of a young rebel leader, and the border skirmishes with Afghanistan in the last month would also be discussed today. The meeting would focus on formulating a national policy, sources said.
